Adoptee Conferences

IKAA International Gathering
IKAA (International Korean Adoptee Associations) Network Organizations host large-scale International Gathering. These events create the space for adoptees to come together from across the globe. International Gatherings commonly welcome 150+ attendees and are held at least once per year. On a recurring basis (~every 3 years), the International Gathering is held in Seoul, Korea, attracting up to 700+ attendees. IKAA International Gathering are a one-of-a-kind experience. #MyIKAAExperience captures some of these unique perspectives.

The last Korea Gathering was held July 10th to 16th 2023. More than 450 adoptees, partners, and families met in Seoul at the world’s largest global adoptee conference. Participants joined from 19 countries with adoptees ranging from ages 19-69 years old.

KAAN Conference
We’re looking forward to seeing you for KAAN (Korean American Adoptee Adoptive Family Network)! As always, we plan to offer an adoptee-only track alongside our general breakout sessions, which are open to all. We also plan to offer programs for adults and youth (ages 8-17). All are welcome, including adoptees, birth families, family members (adoptive parents, spouses/partners, siblings and children of adoptees), service providers, and Korean Americans.

Bay to LA
The Association of Korean Adoptees | SF (AKA-SF) is excited to host its 3rd annual Bay to LA event (September 8-10, 2023)! We can’t wait to see familiar faces, meet new ones, and build/empower our California adoptee communities! Bay to LA is mostly a social community gathering for Korean Adoptees with special events sprinkled in. We’ve been meeting in LA’s Koreatown for the last three years so that we can include individuals from across our San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego areas.
